Public Debates

On regular occasions the Society has a public debate which is open for everyone to attend. Guests, such as MPs, MEPs, academics and journalists speak on topical motions and the audience has the chance to express their views.

Media, War & Postmodernity – 23rd October

Dr Philip Hammond presents his theory that wars are no longer started by western countries as a strategic aim but in reality are used as a tool for propaganda.

Alochol Debate – 12th November

Josie Appleton presents her case for lifting all drinking bans (apart from the age restriction).
